Our 2nd Community Awareness Event was a great success

Thanks very much to all who attended our very successful Prevention event last Wednesday, held in partnership with Care & Repair (Wyre and Fylde)

We started with presentations from Care & Repair, Lancashire Fire and Rescue and the Lancashire Wellbeing Service, all of whom explained how their services contribute towards the prevention agenda, keeping people safe in their homes and enabling independent living

We then held a speed information session, where Age UK Lancashire, Carers’ Point, Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group and Lancashire West Citizen’s Advice spoke to attendees about their services and Lancashire Wellbeing Service ran a question and answer session

There was a great buzz around the room as groups and individuals took the opportunity to network and share ideas and feedback on the event was very positive

Our Members Welcome Event – 19th February 2016

We held our Member’s Welcome Event on Friday 19th February and it was a very successful event with lots of great networking but more importantly some fantastic information, considerations and thoughts gathered about the way forward for the Network.

The event started with a presentation to provide an update on the progress of the Network and this included the signing of the Certificate of Recognition of Partnership working between the Wyre and Fylde Community Network and CVS. We then moved onto a number of workshop questions and a ‘bingo’ activity to really find out more about our members which proved to be great fun (and very competitive!). We closed the event by celebrating with a cake and sharing this with the attendees.

We received some fantastic evaluation comments on our feedback forms and these have now been included in our Event Evaluation Report which can be found below. We have also included some of the photographs from the event

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our members for making this such a positive event and their enthusiasm to be part of this exciting venture.

Community Awareness Event – 8th December 2015

Our first Community Awareness Event was a great success and went a long way to raise the profile about the work and services that some of our member groups provide across Wyre and Fylde. 9 groups took part – Homestart -Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde, UR Potential, Care and Repair (Wyre and Fylde) Healthwatch (Lancashire), Fylde Citizens Advice Prince’s Trust, Play Inclusion Project, Victim Support and Three Leaves and over 30 attendees came along to meet them and find out more. We received some very positive comments from people attending the event including the 2 below:

Sue Littlefair (Prince’s Trust) – ‘The Event was buzzing and there was a lot of energy in the room with people keen to learn more about the work of the voluntary and community sector of Fylde and Wyre’

Mike Morris (Rotary St Annes and Trustee of Wyre and Fylde Community Network) – ‘What a useful event. People took advantage to share information about their groups, such a lot of helpful details. I think it benefited everybody who took part. Here’s to many more of these type of events’

We would like to thank our wonderful groups for taking part, all the people who attended and also a special thank you to Homestart for supporting us with this event
